Slide Decks for
Health & Wellness Professionals
90 min - 1.5 AASECT CEs

A practical skills workshop for professionals who want their slide decks to be clear, accessible, engaging, and ethically sourced.

About the Event

Creating slide decks for presentations can be one of the most useful ways to build engaging workshops and trainings, but can also be intimidating, overwhelming, and confusing. Having spent the last five years running virtual workshops for sexuality and mental health professionals and having developed over a dozen slide decks with multiple iterations, I’ve learned how to build accessible, ethically sourced, interactive slides.

Participants will learn best practices for structuring educational slide decks, pacing content, integrating multimedia, and utilizing features and tools. While this presentation will feature PowerPoint, most tips and insights will apply to any program. The session will also address ethical considerations around sourcing and citation, accessibility expectations, and interactive elements.

This workshop is suitable for educators, coaches, clinicians, and other professionals at any stage of experience, whether you are building your first presentation or refining existing slide decks.

Participants will leave with concrete, transferable skills they can immediately apply to their own slide presentations.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1. Construct a comprehensive multimedia slide deck.

2. Identify at least 3 accessibility, sourcing, or engagement best practices within a slide assisted presentation.
